Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions. Here are some common questions. Find the answers you're looking for below.

What happens after my landscape design is finalized?

Once your design is complete, we’ll schedule a Pre-Construction Meeting to walk your site, confirm logistics, and set a start date.

Do you handle everything in-house, or do you use subcontractors?

Modern Yardz is a full-stack design and build company. We manage all construction in-house to ensure quality, communication, and accountability.

How long will my build take?

Timelines vary by project size, but we’ll give you a clear schedule during the Pre-Construction Meeting — and your project manager will keep things on track.

Will I have a dedicated project manager?

Yes. Every client is assigned a dedicated PM who checks in daily, oversees progress, and acts as your main point of contact throughout the build.

What does the Pre-Construction Meeting cover?

We review the full plan, walk your yard with our team, answer your questions, and make sure nothing gets lost in translation before the build begins.

Can you build from designs I got elsewhere (like Yardzen)?

In many cases, yes. We can review your plans, identify any red flags, and provide a construction quote based on your existing design.

What types of outdoor features do you build?

We specialize in pools, spas, patios, pavers, concrete, fire features, pergolas, seat walls, lighting, turf, and more — we’re truly full service.

What’s the difference between Modern Yardz and a general contractor?

We’re landscape specialists who offer both design and build under one roof — with dedicated project managers, design expertise, and an outdoor-only focus.

Will you walk me through how to use my new features?

Yes! During the Final Walkthrough, we’ll show you how to operate your irrigation, lighting, grill, or any other new installations.

How do I schedule my construction start date?

Once you approve your estimate, we’ll schedule the Pre-Construction Meeting and provide you with a target start date and project timeline.
